In Ohio lately we have had rain like no other, with it raining a some 25 out of 30 days in April, its almost on track to do it again in May! With that being said us Private Pilots have trouble finding time to log some quality flight time in weather conditions like these. Today was a prime example of this. I went to the airport just to put an airplane away that was flown today by another customer, and while I was doing so I ran into a flying friend. Him and I have planned to go flying together, because he needs a safety pilot for his instrument flying. So as we made small talk we wondered why we werent flying at that very moment.
So we decided that we would shoot for later that afternoon to go up for a little bit. As we planned this it was about 75 degrees out and sunny. 2 hours passed and it was full on clouds with rain and uckynous. So obviously we scrubbed the flight and have planned for either tomorrow or sometime in the week. Lets face it, Ohio is not the most logical place to get flight training in a short amount of time, that’s probably why ATP, or any other big name flight schools have flight schools here, because they cant pound out the hours! But if your an Instrument rated pilot, by all means fly into the Ohio airspace.
Until Next Time,
Pilot Ian
