Time to Hover

I have to come clean with everyone right now. It is hard to keep this from everyone any longer… I am an airplane pilot that loves helicopters. Are you still reading? Good, must mean you weren’t turned off.

I have been reflecting on my aviation future these past few months while I sit dorment from flying due to college studies and have truly been trying to figure out what I want to do with my future. If you have been a reader for any amount of time, you will know that my life adventure is full of many things that I have done or plan to do. But one underlying characteristic that I never want to face in life is boredom. Okay, so I defined that I never want to be bored in life… so that eliminates every job other than flying or owning a business for a living.

So there it is, I have narrowed it down to owning an aviation company or flying for a living. On any given day you could ask me what I want to do in the future and likely the answer will flip flop between those two answers on a consistent basis.

Where do helicopters come into play?

I have seriously grown to love helicopters and have recently been researching helicopter training and jobs. I am not quite sure why I do this, but it is just an instinctive thing and perhaps thats a sign if there ever was to be one. But then I have the childhood dream of landing the heavy iron with hundreds of passengers behind me judging the landing.

If you can’t tell, I am very confused about my future and hope that someday it becomes apparent if I should be in the cockpit of an airline, helicopter, or a conference room. Ideally I will start an airline in the future (but that is ideally).

So there it is, I am in love with helicopters and it has just added another mix to the confusing fire.

Until Next Time,

Ian
